Valternette

Valternette overlooks the small village of Col San Martino, situated about 50 km from Venice amongst the hills stretching from Conegliano to Valdobbiadene in the Province of Treviso, one of the most important sparkling wine districts in Italy and the world.

The estate is made up of 26 hectares of calcareous clay soil and is located in one of the most beautiful and productive areas of the Prealpi Trevigiane. From the foothills of Colle Stregonia, it hosts an enviable panorama: the view spans the entire Quartier del Piave basin all the way to the Colli Euganei.

The high Valternette Hill has always been one of the favourite destinations of the families’ summer picnics. The toponym, which can be found even in the ancient cadastral maps, has become the name of the winery in honor of this beloved place.

The estate also includes vineyards in the Collalto di Susegana area in the heart of the Colli di Conegliano.

The company was founded in 1969 by Ruggero Follador on land purchased by his father Giovanni after the First World War. Today the company is run by Ruggero’s son Alberto, who with the help of his wife Sara, closely monitors all the stages of production, from the vineyard to the cellar.
